Curriculum Intent

A high-quality A-Level Sociology course allows pupils to learn the fundamentals of the subject and develop skills valued by higher education (HE) and employers, including critical analysis, independent thinking and research.

Pupils will have the opportunity to focus on core themes and apply these to key subject areas focusing on both contemporary and historical times.A key link to contemporary UK society equips pupils with a clear understanding of today’s world and enables them to engage in lots of wider reading and opportunities to develop cultural capital links. It develops many skills such as communication, evaluative, analysis and time management that are essential for both future study and the workplace.
