'As an enriching centre of both learning and reading, Maricourt's Library is an essential part of our school community. Housing a variety of books within several genres, there is something for everyone depending on your taste.
With a section of our library dedicated to offering higher academic reading resources, we encourage our six form students to use these in their studies or to just explore a particular topic if they so wish.
The Library is also home to our weekly ‘Book Club’ sessions on a Monday from 3:30pm-4:30pm. An opportunity for students to come together and discuss a book we are reading, this has given many of our pupil’s confidence in expressing their opinions on certain characters and their motives, as well as developing their ability to analyse the various themes within different pieces of literature.
Whether a Sixth Former spending a free period catching up on some work or a pupil in Years 7-11 taking some time to catch up on the latest chapter of an engrossing book during break or lunchtime, the library is a quiet and relaxing place for all and vital to the development of our staff and students.'
