Equality
At Maricourt Catholic High School, we strive to nurture a living Catholic community rooted in Christian values, where growth, knowledge, respect, love, and fellowship are shared by all. We recognise that every individual is created in the image of God and is deserving of dignity, care, and inclusion. Guided by our Catholic faith and Mercy Values, we are committed to embedding equality, respect, and compassion in every aspect of school life. Our aims are to:
- Eliminate discrimination, harassment, prejudice, and victimisation in all areas of school life;
- Promote equality of access and opportunity for all pupils, staff, and members of our wider community;
- Foster positive attitudes to difference and develop strong relationships between people from diverse backgrounds;
- Provide an inclusive educational environment, with a curriculum and teaching practices that respect and celebrate diversity, accommodate different needs, and ensure equal access to learning opportunities;
- Create a community where diversity is valued and inclusion is actively pursued, so that every individual feels welcomed, supported, and empowered.
We are also committed to community cohesion, recognising that a cohesive community is one where every member shares a sense of belonging and a common vision, diversity is positively valued, life opportunities are equitable, and strong, positive relationships are developed across different backgrounds within the school and the wider community.
