Megan Parry

I have recently finished my graduate BA Honours degree in Architecture at LJMU! I have always been interested in art and design since primary school at Holy Rosary, where my love for art and design started. I then transitioned to Maricourt, where up to now, 12 of my family members have attended since 1963 and more to join in a few short years! A career in Architecture is perfect for me to express my creativity and have an influence within cities. I couldn’t thank Maricourt and more specifically, the Art and Design department more! I studied Art and design for GCSE and A level, which given me the opportunity to express my interest within building design through my coursework and allowed me to build the foundations for starting my degree in being creative with design. I would definitely recommend taking Art and design at Maricourt, due to the amount of help and support you will receive from the teachers; Nothing is ever too much. You have the opportunity to express your own unique interests and be creative through Art and the teachers will always go that extra mile to help you achieve this. I have never met a more friendly department of teachers in my life. This is what I miss the most about school, the feeling of always being welcomed and the friendly atmosphere within the art rooms. My advice for young people today is to never give up on your dreams. It will be challenging, but it’s worth it when you achieve it! I absolutely loved my time at Maricourt and studying Art and Design, memories I’ll cherish forever.
