Hanna Pendleton

Hi my name is Hannah Pendleton. I started working towards my dream career in my primary school Blessed Sacrament where my favourite subject was English. I then started at Maricourt in 2012 where my favourite subject was definitely Health and social care which I took at GCSE. I then decided to stay on at Maricourt sixth form where I studied a Double award btec in Health and Social Care and a single award in Business Studies. I stayed at sixth form due to the help and support I had received during my years at Maricourt from the teachers encouragement to do my best , receiving after school revision sessions, interview practice, and pastoral support. I also received support in finding volunteering and work experience opportunities within the healthcare sector which helped make my personal statement stand out when applying to university to study towards my dream career of being a Paramedic. I knew if I stayed at Maricourt I would receive all the support and encouragement I needed to help me achieve my goal of getting into my first choice university Liverpool John Moores where I am now a second year Student Paramedic, even though I doubted myself getting onto the course due to me being so young and it being a highly competitive course, the teachers always encouraged me to follow my dream and not give up. My advice to young people deciding a future career would be work hard , don’t give up and anything is achievable if you want to achieve it.
