My dream of being a Doctor all began at Blessed Sacrament Primary School where my favourite subject was maths. I then went on to Maricourt Catholic High School where my favourite subjects were maths and science but especially Biology. I loved it there because the teachers always pushed me to reach my potential and there were so many opportunities to get involved with such as dance clubs, careers talks and events and trips and holidays (such as Alton towers, York, London, Spain, Italy and New York!). I then decided to stay on in sixth form and study Maths, Chemistry and Biology (and Further Maths at AS) because I loved how encouraging everyone was and I think having a pre-established relationship with my teachers gave me more confidence to ask for help allowed them to support me both mentally and academically. I have recently began my journey as a student doctor after being accepted onto the medical programme at Edge Hill University. My message to young people deciding on a future career is to always believe in yourself and if you want something, work hard for it! It’s not always easy put it pays off in the end.
