I always knew I wanted to help people in some way when I grew older, and my dream to achieve this all began at St Michaels and All Angels. My favourite subjects were maths and science as well as art. I then went on to Maricourt Catholic High School. I loved it there because the teachers were so supportive and really cared about their students achieving their goals. I then stayed on in sixthform and studied biology, chemistry, physics and maths because I had decided a career as a doctor was what I wanted to do when I left school. I then went to University of Liverpool to study Medicine for 5 years. I now enjoy life as a paediatric doctor working in A&E at Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital. The most rewarding part of my job is being able to help look after sick children and make them feel better. My message to young people deciding on a future career is pick something that makes you happy. You can achieve anything you want to if you work hard enough- never give up!
