The Governors of Maricourt Catholic High School wish to appoint an outstanding candidate to the post of Deputy Headteacher. The successful person will have responsibility for the Quality of Education, leading the SLT Curriculum group and continuing to drive standards in teaching and learning. We are looking for someone with a proven track record in this area who demonstrates the highest of standards at all times.

You will be joining a strong and dedicated Leadership Team in a very warm and welcoming school. The school Mission Statement reflects this;

The Governing Body’s ambition is for the School to be outstanding in both pastoral care and academic achievement. Our new Deputy Headteacher must ensure that the progress that has already been made on this journey continues.  He/she will:

•             be a practising and committed Catholic who will enhance the school’s Catholic ethos

•             be an experienced leader with a sustained track record of successful school improvement

•             command the respect and confidence of pupils, staff, parents and the community

You will be expected to teach across the full age and ability range. The successful candidate would be joining a highly supportive department. We seek an exceptional candidate, who is committed to high standards and can communicate to young people a passionate enthusiasm for Modern Foreign Languages. We want a Curriculum Leader who is innovative, resilient and reflective, ready for a challenge and able to support colleagues in becoming outstanding practitioners, thus supporting the school on its journey to outstanding. We are at an exciting time on our MFL journey and the successful applicant will be supported by great languages department. We are looking for someone to grow and develop our team of teachers.

The successful candidate will be an effective and inspirational classroom teacher. They will have a track record of successful outcomes for students from a wide range of backgrounds and are looking to progress to the next level in their career. They must have a good understanding of the current educational developments within the subject and have a passion for supporting our students on their journey in a Catholic school. They will have the ability to develop others to improve performance and have the highest expectations of students.
