Enrichment & CIAG
At Maricourt we pride ourselves on the wealth of opportunities we provide for our students, which are designed to build on their cultural capital, promote personal development, and develop initiative and leadership qualities. The aim is to ensure that all of our students, whether they choose higher education, or an apprenticeship, are prepared for the next stage in their education, or the first steps in their chosen career.

We have a strong Enrichment Programme which includes a wide range of activities for our students, including:

  • Teachers of Tomorrow - in association with Edge Hill

  • Mandarin - in association with The Confucius Institute and Edge Hill University

  • Sports Leadership Award

  • Careers in Finance - in association with KPMG, RSM and PWC

  • Complimentary Therapies

  • Employability skills workshops with Kudos and National Careers Service

  • Citizenship and Politics workshops

  • Enterprise workshops

  • Motivational workshops

  • Gold Duke of Edinburgh Award

  • Personal Statement workshops with LJMU

  • Workshops with the Apprenticeship Hub

All of our Sixth Form students will undertake a Work Experience Programme; students can organise their own placement or they can be supported with finding an appropriate placement. We have strong links with a number of local employers enabling us to provide our students with a fantastic and worthwhile work placement, including;

  • Aintree Hospital (including Dentistry placements)

  • Law firms

  • Accountancy practices

  • Education (all Key Stages)

  • Care Homes

  • Department stores

  • Travel Agencies

  • Aintree Racecourse

  • Charitable organisations

A copy of the Sixth Form Enrichment calendar can be found here.

We also provide our Sixth Form Students with an opportunity to participate in a wide range of Educational Visits including New York, China, Cern, Iceland, London and Field Work across the country. In addition to this, all of our Sixth Form Students attend the 'What Career Live?' Exhibition, the Higher Ed Fair and attend University Taster Days, to support them in making an informed decision about their Post 18 pathway.
