University Application and Finance
At Maricourt the vast majority of our Year 13 students go onto higher education when they leave. From midway through Year 12 advice is given on the university application process and there is a parents information evening at the end of Year 12 to explain the process.

UCAS (www.ucas.com) is the main starting point for undergraduate university course information. You can search by university or course, and find links to the universities web pages from there. Each university course has specific entry requirements. These are either given as grades (e.g.BBB) or as a points score (e.g. 120 points).

If the course listed is a points score you can use the following table to assist you.

The Tariff points listed below apply to all A level and AS qualifications awarded since 2001.

For example, a student attaining 3 'C' grades at A level 96 points (3 x 32).

UCAS has a specific section to support parents of students going to university.
