Knife Crime - Radio City
Building on the various work we have done in school to educate our young people about the dangers and consequences of getting involved in knife crime, 14 Year 10 students have now taken a new approach to help further educate their peers in Maricourt.

Students who have worked on knife crime projects recently worked with students who have expressed an aspiration to work in radio, media or journalism to create 3 separate podcasts during a day visit to the landmark Radio City tower.

The students spent the day learning about the work Radio City has done in supporting local knife crime initiatives and charities as well as exploring the thought process behind producing radio adverts.

The students had to work together to develop ideas and then write and record a short podcast to help get the message across to people their age about the dangers and consequences of getting involved in knife crime. Each group took at different approach and with the expert guidance and production skills of the staff at Radio City they have produced these 3 podcasts.

The podcasts will now be used in assemblies and PSHEE & Citizenship lessons to further support the work we do on knife and gang crime.
