"The essence of Mathematics is not to make simple things complicated, but to make complicated things simple" - S. Gudder

At Maricourt, we aim to provide our students with a Mathematical education that allows them to achieve their maximum potential.

Maths is a core subject studied by everyone from Year 7 to Year 11 and is also a popular A-level choice.

Maths is not only an important subject in its own right but also because of its applications in other subjects, the most notable at school level are the sciences but also in Geography, Business Studies, ICT, Psychology and DT.

We offer various different approaches to Teaching and Learning to challenge, motivate and engage students and develop their Mathematical knowledge, understanding and skills for everyday life, future employment and also to enable students to achieve their full potential in KS3, GCSE, AS and A2 examinations.

UK mathematics challenge at junior, intermediate and senior level

Students in Years 7, 8, 9, 10 and 12/13 are entered for the UK Mathematical challenges at Junior, Intermediate and Senior Levels respectively. Many of our students achieve Gold, Silver and Bronze certificates.
