GCSE Art is a popular subject and pupils enjoy the experience. Pupils in year 10 work on a given starting point and follow a teacher led introduction to a wide range of artistic skills, processes
and techniques. When their confidence and experience have developed they are encouraged to follow a more independent path. They choose the direction their work takes and what materials they want to
explore further.
Throughout the course pupils work is influenced by a range of artists. From January, Year 11 students work on a controlled assessment. They chose a starting point from a given exam paper and prepare work which culminates

in them producing a final exam piece. This is a demanding but creative and inspirational subject.
