ESFA PlayStation Football
We have been delighted to host the ESFA PlayStation Event at Maricourt as one of the ten schools chosen nationally this year. Maricourt enter the ESFA PlayStation Schools Cup each year with boys and girls teams in year 7 to 11 competing in the biggest football tournament in the country.

The event included football coaching sessions by ESFA coaches for 200 of our students along with the opportunity for 300 students to use the PlayStation Gaming Hub set up in Arnold Hall. Lots of the students won prizes including football shirts stickers and caps.

As part of this special event Maricourt welcomed Trent Alexander Arnold the Liverpool Footballer player to the school. There was a packed schedule of media interviews for Trent and the Maricourt Student to take part in throughout the afternoon. The students where very excited to have a professional footballer in school and were inspired by his story and his professional career at LFC.

The students had an amazing opportunity to take part in a question and answer session with Trent Alexander Arnold and ask him questions about his footballing career at Liverpool FC. 6 Students were filmed taking part in a TV programme called Sky Sports Game Changers with Trent, showing off their football skills and asking Trent questions for the show. This TV programme will be broadcast on Sky Sport 1! One Lucky year 7 student was chosen to play against Trent on the PlayStation FIFA 18 game while being cheered on by his year 7 football team mates. The year 7 football team then met Trent for a signing and selfie session. Trent was involved in interviews with Soccer Saturday which will be broadcast on Sky Sports 1, and Match Magazine who will publish an article on his visit to Maricourt.

The students and staff had a fantastic day with the ESFA, PlayStation, and the media. One year 7 boy commented "this has been the best day, I will never forget it."
